The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has approved the resumption of scheduled commercial flights at Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan. The approval comes as a provisional interim operational permit issued to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The decision follows major upgrades led by the Oyo State Government, including runway expansion, enhanced lighting, a new fuel storage facility, and a protocol lounge. The NCAA confirmed that safety-critical facilities and operational arrangements meet regulatory standards.
The airport, closed earlier in 2025 for renovations, is now set to welcome airlines back, offering improved connectivity for residents of Ibadan and Oyo State. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
