The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has said it will abide by the political directives of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made by leaders of the party in Ahoada West Local Government Area during Wike’s visit to the area, where he was received by supporters and political stakeholders.

Speaking on behalf of the party, the APC chairman in the council area said members had resolved to align with Wike’s political decisions in 2027, citing his influence and role in the state’s political landscape. According to him, party faithful are prepared to follow whatever direction Wike gives concerning the next general elections.

He noted that the decision was based on what he described as Wike’s leadership and contributions to the development and political relevance of Rivers State.

During the visit, Wike thanked residents for their support during the 2023 elections and urged them to remain politically united. He also called on his supporters to work towards ensuring a change in the state’s leadership in the next election cycle.

The development underscores Wike’s continued influence in Rivers politics and signals possible realignments as political actors begin early positioning ahead of the 2027 polls.
