Polish Ambassador Commends Nigerian Armed Forces for Professionalism and Regional Role

The Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, Michał Cygan, has praised the Nigerian Armed Forces for their professionalism and resilience, describing Nigeria as a stabilizing force in West Africa. He highlighted the pivotal role of the Nigerian Air Force in counter-insurgency operations and regional security initiatives.

The remarks were made during an official courtesy visit to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters in Abuja, according to a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

Ambassador Cygan expressed Poland’s interest in exploring practical avenues for bilateral defence cooperation to further support Nigeria’s security priorities. He noted that Nigeria’s strategic location and sustained security engagements continue to contribute significantly to regional stability and peace.

In response, Air Marshal Aneke emphasized the importance of strategic international partnerships in addressing modern and asymmetric security challenges. He reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to collaborating with friendly nations to enhance operational effectiveness, capacity development, and information exchange in support of national and regional security objectives.

The Air Chief also reiterated the Service’s openness to mutually beneficial partnerships aimed at strengthening counter-insurgency capabilities and contributing to broader regional and global security efforts.
