On Friday, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched an overnight assault involving 19 drones aimed at critical infrastructure across Ukraine. The country’s air defenses successfully intercepted and shot down nine of the drones, while seven others were likely neutralized by electronic jamming. The fate of the remaining three drones remains unclear.
In the capital, Kyiv, an apartment building sustained damage, but no casualties were reported. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that a fire caused by the attack was swiftly brought under control. In the central Kirovohrad region, a business administrative building was damaged, resulting in minor injuries to one employee, according to Governor Andriy Raykovych.
Further south, in the Kherson region, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported that Russian forces had targeted critical infrastructure, utility facilities, and 35 private homes over the last 24 hours. These strikes claimed the life of one civilian and left four others injured.
The continued escalation of drone strikes is having a significant impact on both civilian life and essential services in Ukraine. Despite the relentless attacks, the country remains resilient in the face of ongoing assaults on its infrastructure.
