President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to distribute rice across all states of Nigeria to support families observing the ongoing Ramadan and Lenten seasons. The initiative aims to promote compassion, charity, and solidarity during these significant periods for both Muslim and Christian communities.
Under the President’s directive, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will utilise their nationwide grassroots network to coordinate the distribution through state, local government, and ward structures, ensuring that the support reaches families across the country. President Tinubu noted that a similar intervention was carried out during last year’s Christmas celebrations, highlighting the administration’s commitment to assisting citizens during important religious and cultural occasions.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, said the programme underscores the President’s vision of national unity through practical acts of care. He explained that the initiative is designed to reach communities nationwide, reflecting the spirit of sacrifice and generosity associated with Ramadan and Lent.
The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, launched by President Tinubu in February 2026, function as a nationwide platform to enhance citizen engagement, strengthen community support systems, and promote the ideals of unity, compassion, and national progress under the Tinubu-Shettima Administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
