Troops of Sector II of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested a suspected logistics supplier linked to terrorist groups and recovered 150 pairs of combat boots alongside other tactical items during an operation in Zamfara State.

The suspect was apprehended along the Sokoto–Gusau Road during a routine stop-and-search exercise conducted by military personnel. He was travelling in a Honda Civic vehicle when troops discovered a cache of military-related items concealed inside the car.

Items recovered from the suspect included 150 pairs of combat boots, three jackknives, three electric shock devices, a tear-gas canister, a military beret, a military belt, two Android phones, an iPad, and a digital wristwatch believed to contain intelligence value.

Military authorities described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle the logistics and supply networks that sustain terrorist and bandit operations across Nigeria’s North-West region. They noted that disrupting the flow of equipment and supplies to criminal groups remains a key strategy in weakening their operational capabilities and limiting their ability to carry out attacks.

The suspect is currently in military custody and undergoing further investigation, while the recovered items have been secured as exhibits. Security agencies said operations aimed at intercepting terrorist logistics networks will continue as part of broader efforts to restore peace and security in Zamfara and neighbouring states.

The latest arrest comes amid intensified military operations under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, which has recorded several successes against terrorist and bandit groups operating across the North-West. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
