In a bid to promote greener energy solutions, the Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government has announced the launch of an application portal for citizens looking to convert their vehicles from Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as fuel, to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). This initiative comes with an attractive payment plan, allowing Nigerians to make the switch now and pay later in affordable monthly installments.

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) released a statement on Wednesday encouraging vehicle owners to visit gocng.ng to apply. The conversion process promises significant benefits, including cost savings, environmental advantages, and enhanced engine life. The initiative also highlights the ease of the online application and the quick approval process to ensure a smooth experience.

“This payment plan is designed to make the switch to CNG more accessible to all Nigerians,” the statement reads, emphasizing the convenience and affordability of the transition.

This move is part of a broader government strategy to reduce dependency on petrol and promote cleaner energy, following the recent free CNG conversion programme launched across six locations in Lagos. With CNG proven to be safe and reliable, the government hopes that more Nigerians will adopt this alternative energy source.
