The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the third and final phase of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will commence on May 11, 2026, and end on July 10, 2026.

In a statement released by the commission, INEC recalled that the second phase of the exercise was suspended on April 17, 2026, to allow for the clean-up of the voter register following its publication for claims and objections.

The commission urged eligible Nigerians who have turned 18, as well as those who missed earlier registration phases, to take advantage of the final window to register.

INEC also advised already registered voters seeking to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correct personal details to use its official platform or visit its offices across states and local government areas.

As part of the process, the commission said the voter register will be displayed for public scrutiny between July 23 and July 29, 2026, to allow citizens raise claims and objections where necessary.

INEC assured the public that all necessary preparations have been made to ensure a smooth exercise, while encouraging Nigerians to participate actively in strengthening the country’s electoral process.
