The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election held in Kano State.

The election, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on June 20, 2026, was part of nationwide legislative by-elections to fill vacant seats in the National Assembly.

The APC flag bearer in the election, Alhaji Shu’aibu Rabiu Nagogo (Gano), emerged victorious after polling the highest number of valid votes, defeating candidates from other political parties.

The seat became vacant following the death of the former lawmaker representing the constituency, prompting INEC to organize the by-election in line with constitutional provisions.

Election officials reported that the process was largely peaceful, with voting and collation completed across polling units in Dawakin Kudu and Warawa local government areas.

The result further strengthens APC’s political presence in Kano State, where the party continues to record notable electoral gains. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
