Former Minister of Power, Mamman Saleh, has been taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged financial misconduct.

Photos circulating online on Tuesday showed the former minister wearing handcuffs while in the custody of EFCC operatives, sparking reactions across political and public circles.

Although the anti-graft agency is yet to release a detailed official statement on the allegations, sources familiar with the development said the investigation is linked to alleged irregularities during his time in office.

The development comes amid ongoing efforts by the EFCC to intensify investigations into corruption and abuse of public office involving former government officials.
