Shettima Arrives Maiduguri for APC Governorship Primary as Party Leaders Rally Support

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election holding across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Vice President was earlier described as Borno’s exemplary political leader by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Shettima, who previously served as Governor of Borno State for eight years and later represented Borno Central in the Senate, is taking part in the exercise alongside top political stakeholders in the state. His presence is seen as part of efforts to reinforce internal party cohesion and adherence to constitutional and electoral processes guiding the primaries.

He is accompanied by Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, APC Deputy Chairman (North) Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, APC governorship aspirant Engr. Mustapha Gubio, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda, members of the National Assembly, Speaker and members of the State House of Assembly, commissioners, and other senior party officials.
