The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) crack team has arrested a suspect identified as Ifechukwu Dennis over allegations of creating and circulating a fake voice recording purported to be that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The suspect was reportedly apprehended in Benin following intelligence-led operations by the police. According to preliminary information, Dennis allegedly originated the manipulated voice recording and passed it on to unsuspecting individuals as the authentic voice of the President.

The development reportedly forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb digital impersonation, misinformation, and cyber-related fraud targeting high-profile public figures.

The Police are expected to issue an official statement providing further details on the arrest and ongoing investigation.
