The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has officially announced Hon. Fred Agbedi as the new Minority Leader of the 10th House of Representatives.

Agbedi, who represents the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State, was unveiled during plenary as the new leader of the minority caucus in the Green Chamber. His appointment marks a significant development in the leadership structure of the House and is expected to strengthen the coordination of opposition lawmakers in the National Assembly.

As Minority Leader, Agbedi will be responsible for leading the minority caucus, articulating its positions on legislative matters, and engaging with the House leadership on issues of national importance. He will also play a key role in promoting constructive debate, oversight, and accountability within the legislative process.

His emergence follows consultations among opposition parties and lawmakers over the leadership of the minority bloc. The announcement by Speaker Abbas formally confirms Agbedi’s elevation to one of the principal leadership positions in the House of Representatives.
