
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, as the winner of the governorship election held in the state.
INEC announced that Oyebanji, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured the highest number of valid votes cast to defeat his closest rivals in the contest.
According to the official declaration, the election featured candidates from major political parties, including the APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and others. Oyebanji maintained a strong lead across most local government areas in the state, consolidating his advantage during the collation process.
The election, which was conducted across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State, was described by electoral officials as largely peaceful, with voters turning out to participate in the democratic process.
With the declaration, Oyebanji has been returned elected for another term as governor of Ekiti State, following the completion of collation and announcement of results by INEC.
