Troops of the Operation HADIN KAI have recorded a series of coordinated operational successes across the North-East theatre between 16 and 19 June 2026, targeting terrorist elements through IED neutralisation, armed engagement, and logistics disruption.
On 16 June 2026, troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team, working with a Quick Reaction Force, responded to intelligence from local residents about the presence of Improvised Explosive Devices along the Biu–Buratai Road. On arrival, the troops identified and safely detonated five IED cylinders planted by terrorist elements.
The operation was successfully concluded without casualties, and all personnel returned safely to base.
On 17 June 2026, troops of the 153 Task Force Battalion encountered terrorists along the Miyanti–Ngoshe axis while returning from picket duty in Kirawa. The insurgents, reportedly riding on about 60 motorcycles, engaged the troops with gunfire. The soldiers responded with superior firepower, forcing the attackers to retreat in disarray towards Miyanti.
Although enemy casualties were not confirmed, the troops recovered ammunition, motorcycles, and several items including solar panels and motorcycle spare parts.
In a separate operation on 19 June 2026, troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade Garrison intercepted and arrested two suspected logistics suppliers linked to the Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province during a checkpoint operation.
The suspects identified as Mohammed Bukar, also known as “Dege,” and his apprentice Iliyasu Abdullahi were apprehended while transporting Premium Motor Spirit and relief materials allegedly intended for terrorist groups.
The military described the operations as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist logistics networks, deny insurgents freedom of movement, and enhance security across the region.
Residents were urged to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information.
