Vice President Kashim Shettima has paid glowing tribute to the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, mother of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing her as a woman whose life of service, leadership, and compassion left an enduring impact on Nigeria.

Speaking on Sunday at the Annual Grand Prayer Session held in her honour at the National Mosque in Abuja, the Vice President, who represented President Tinubu, said the late Iyaloja-General of Nigeria demonstrated leadership through the lives she touched and the institutions she strengthened.

Shettima noted that Alhaja Mogaji’s legacy continues to influence the nation through the values she instilled in her son, President Tinubu, whom he described as a leader shaped by a lifelong commitment to service, democracy, and the welfare of ordinary citizens.

According to the Vice President, the late matriarch dedicated much of her life to supporting traders, empowering market women, and promoting community development, earning widespread respect and affection through her selfless service.

He offered prayers for the repose of her soul and urged Nigerians to draw inspiration from her legacy of sacrifice, unity, and service to humanity.

The Vice President also expressed confidence that Nigeria would overcome its current security and economic challenges through unity, prayer, and collective commitment, while reaffirming President Tinubu’s dedication to implementing policies aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, disclosed that more than 250 hand-pump boreholes had been constructed across nine northern states in memory of the late Alhaja Mogaji. He also announced plans for the establishment of the Abibatu Mogaji Islamic Centre in Abuja and the construction of a modern Juma’at Mosque in Kaduna State in her honour.
