Nigerian troops under Operation Hadin Kai have arrested three women suspected of collaborating with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Borno State.
Security sources said the arrest was carried out during an intelligence-led operation aimed at identifying and disrupting suspected insurgent support networks operating within displacement camps in the region.
The suspects are accused of allegedly providing support to ISWAP-linked activities. However, authorities have not yet disclosed the specific nature of their involvement. They are currently in military custody and are undergoing interrogation as investigations continue.
The operation forms part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in Nigeria’s North-East, where the military continues operations against insurgent groups, including ISWAP and Boko Haram splinter factions, in a bid to restore stability and security to affected communities.
Military officials say surveillance and intelligence operations in IDP camps and surrounding areas will continue as part of broader efforts to prevent infiltration by armed groups. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
