Mother, Two-Year-Old Son Rescued as Police Raid Kidnappers’ Hideout in Kwara

A 43-year-old woman, Adijat Kuburat, and her two-year-old son, Abdul Malik Hamzat, have been rescued by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force following a tactical operation in Bode Sadu, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The rescue was carried out by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) in collaboration with local security support groups after credible intelligence revealed the location where the victims were being held.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Okokon Iniedu, the kidnappers opened fire on the advancing operatives but were overpowered during a gun battle and fled deeper into the forest.

Police operatives subsequently combed the area and safely rescued the mother and her child. The victims were taken to a medical facility for evaluation and are reported to be in stable condition.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, commended the officers involved in the operation for their professionalism and bravery. He reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes through intelligence-led policing.
