A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Obafemi George, has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms, insisting that meaningful transformation cannot be achieved within a short period.
George said the administration’s policies, including fuel subsidy removal, power sector reforms and major infrastructure investments, are long-term measures designed to lay the foundation for sustainable economic growth.
According to him, no country has successfully moved from economic hardship to prosperity within three years, arguing that structural reforms require time, consistency and public support to yield results.
The APC chieftain highlighted ongoing projects such as major highway developments, electricity sector reforms and regional development initiatives as evidence of the administration’s commitment to transforming the economy.
While acknowledging the economic challenges currently faced by many Nigerians, George maintained that the reforms were necessary to address longstanding structural problems and position the country for future prosperity.
He expressed confidence that the benefits of the reforms would become more evident over time, urging Nigerians to remain patient as the government continues implementing its economic agenda.
