Asiya El-Rufai, wife of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has said the bail conditions granted to her husband are not viable and have made it difficult for him to secure his release.
Speaking on the matter, she explained that the court required two sureties with a bond of ₦200 million each, alongside properties valued at ₦200 million located in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Kaduna.
According to her, the conditions also require attestation from the Kaduna State Traditional Council, a process she described as difficult to fulfil.
Mrs. El-Rufai said efforts to meet the requirements have so far proved unsuccessful, maintaining that the conditions have effectively prevented the former governor from enjoying the bail granted by the court.
Her remarks come amid ongoing legal proceedings involving the former governor and growing debate over the practicality of the bail terms imposed by the court.
