Head of Civil Service Highlights Tinubu Administration’s Reforms in Federal Civil Service

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has outlined key reforms and achievements recorded in the Federal Civil Service under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting significant progress in digitalisation, staff welfare, transparency and service delivery.

Walson-Jack said the administration has introduced seven strategic war rooms to accelerate the implementation of critical civil service reform initiatives aimed at building a more efficient and accountable public service.

She noted that the Federal Civil Service has made substantial progress in digitalising its operations, replacing manual processes with real-time digital workflows to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability.

According to her, the reforms have enhanced electronic document tracking, accelerated approval processes and eliminated the long-standing challenge of missing official files through digital records management.

She added that citizens can now interact more easily with ministries through online submission and tracking platforms, improving access to government services.

On staff welfare, the Head of Service said the administration strengthened the Performance Management System, expanded welfare programmes and ensured workers benefited from the five-month wage award.

She also highlighted improvements in peculiar allowances, duty tour allowances and other public service benefits, alongside the introduction of an Exit Benefit Scheme for retiring treasury-funded civil servants.

Walson-Jack further disclosed that the administration renewed support for housing initiatives and established an Employee Compensation Scheme as part of ongoing efforts to improve the welfare and productivity of civil servants under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
