
Vice President Kashim Shettima has disclosed that ongoing procurement reforms by the Federal Government have saved more than ₦1.1 trillion in 2025, describing the achievement as evidence of the administration’s commitment to prudent financial management and transparency.
The Vice President made the disclosure while speaking at the 2026 Federal Permanent Secretaries Retreat, where he reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to strengthen accountability and improve efficiency in public procurement.
Shettima said the reforms have delivered positive results by reducing waste, promoting value for money and enhancing transparency in government spending.
He noted that the administration remains committed to institutional reforms that will improve service delivery, strengthen governance and ensure responsible management of public resources.
The Vice President also urged permanent secretaries to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.
