SEC DG to Headline 13th Annual Capital Market Registrars Conference in Lagos

The Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Dr. Emomotimi Agama, is set to headline the 13th annual conference of the Institute of Capital Market Registrars (ICMR) on November 9, 2024, in Lagos. This was announced in a statement by ICMR President/Chairman of Council, Mr. Oluseyi Owoturo.

Agama will deliver the keynote on the conference theme, “Enhancing Financial Stability in the Nigerian Economy: Strategic Role of the Capital Market in Wealth Creation.” Other speakers include Dr. Ayodele Teriba, CEO of Economic Associates, who will discuss “Balancing Innovation and Regulation for Financial Stability,” and Jude Chiemeka, CEO of Nigerian Exchange Limited, who will address “Restoring Confidence in the Capital Market: The Strategic Role of Registrars.”

The conference aims to assess Nigeria’s economic landscape, address challenges to financial stability, and provide policy recommendations to strengthen the capital market’s role in funding business, government initiatives, and driving innovation and job creation. The event will conclude with the investiture of new fellows and the induction of new ICMR members.
