DSS Rescues Kidnapped NSUK Agriculture Dean, Arrests Two Suspects

The Department of State Services (DSS) has rescued Professor Samuel Okunsebor, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), following his abduction by armed men in Nasarawa State.

Professor Okunsebor was kidnapped around midnight on Wednesday at Mile Uku, a boundary community between Lafia and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas. He was rescued by DSS operatives at about 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Following the successful operation, the DSS handed the professor over to his family in the presence of the university’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kitso Ngbargu. He was subsequently taken to the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital for medical examination.

A senior university official commended the DSS for its swift response, describing the rescue as timely and expressing gratitude to the agency for its efforts in securing the professor’s safe release.

The official also confirmed that two suspects linked to the abduction are currently in DSS custody and expressed confidence that they would be prosecuted in accordance with the law. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
