The Federal Government has commissioned the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) Automotive Training and CNG Conversion Centre in Kebbi State as part of efforts to expand technical skills development and accelerate the adoption of cleaner transportation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The facility was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Enoh, who said the centre would serve as a one-stop hub for petrol-to-Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle conversion, repairs and maintenance.

According to the Federal Government, the centre is designed to equip young Nigerians with globally competitive automotive skills while promoting technical innovation, entrepreneurship and workforce development in the automotive sector.

The initiative is also expected to support Nigeria’s transition to cleaner, more affordable and sustainable transportation by increasing the adoption of CNG-powered vehicles across the country.

The Kebbi facility is one of 22 Automotive Training and CNG Conversion Centres established nationwide to strengthen human capital development and build the technical capacity required to support the country’s growing automotive and alternative energy industries.

The Federal Government said the centres form part of broader efforts to create employment opportunities, enhance industrial development and reduce transportation costs through cleaner energy solutions in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
