The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has questioned the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, as part of its ongoing investigation into the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) scandal.

Gbajabiamila appeared before investigators at the ICPC headquarters in Abuja after honouring the anti-graft agency’s invitation in compliance with President Bola Tinubu’s directive ordering a full investigation into the matter.

His lawyer, Jiti Ogunye, confirmed that the Chief of Staff cooperated fully with investigators, provided his account of the issues under investigation, answered questions put to him and subsequently returned to his official duties.

The investigation centres on allegations surrounding the activities of the purported PFIPC and claims made by its self-proclaimed Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi, regarding the agency’s operations and alleged dealings with senior government officials.

The ICPC has not announced the outcome of the questioning, while investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
