France have reportedly reached an agreement with football legend Zinedine Zidane to become the next head coach of the national team on a contract that will run until June 2030.
According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the former Real Madrid manager has completed the agreement and is expected to be officially unveiled by the French Football Federation in the coming days.
Zidane will succeed Didier Deschamps, who stepped down after a 14-year spell in charge of Les Bleus following the 2026 FIFA World Cup. During his tenure, Deschamps guided France to the 2018 FIFA World Cup title and the 2021 UEFA Nations League trophy, while also leading the team to the 2022 World Cup final.
The appointment marks Zidane’s first managerial role since leaving Real Madrid in 2021. During his time in Spain, he won three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles, two La Liga crowns, and several other major trophies.
