The Office of the Honourable Minister of Defence has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media claiming that the Minister, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), intends to resign from office.

In a statement, the ministry described the reports as malicious, fabricated and designed to mislead the public, insisting that there is no truth to the claims.

The statement reaffirmed that the Defence Minister remains fully committed to his responsibilities and continues to focus on implementing Nigeria’s national defence and security strategy.

The ministry urged the public to disregard the rumours and cautioned media organisations and social media users against disseminating unverified information.

It also advised the public to seek clarification from official channels before sharing information relating to the activities of the Ministry of Defence.
