Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, visited the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, to offer condolences.

Accompanied by the Vice President’s wife, Hajia Nana Shettima, and the National Security Adviser’s wife, Hajia Ribadu, the First Lady was welcomed by Mrs. Oghogho Musa, wife of the Chief of Defence Staff. Together, they prayed for the grieving family.

In a statement released by Mrs. Tinubu’s media aide, Busola Kukoyi, Senator Tinubu offered words of comfort to the late COAS’s wife, Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, and their children. She reminded them that only the Lord determines the timing of life and encouraged them to find solace in his good life and legacy. She also urged the children to stay focused and uphold the values their father stood for.

Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja passed away at 56 after an illness.
