Vice President Kashim Shettima has officially submitted the nomination and expression of interest forms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling the formal commencement of the President’s bid for a second term in office.

The submission took place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, where the Vice President was received by several top party figures and government officials. Among those present were Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside a number of state governors and other influential party stakeholders.

President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima secured victory in the 2023 presidential election with over eight million votes. The submission of the forms is seen as the first major step in the President’s push for another four-year mandate under the APC ahead of the 2027 general election.
