Six members of the House of Representatives have formally announced their defection from their respective political parties to new platforms.

Four lawmakers from Kano State—Sani Wakili (Minjibir/Ungogo Federal Constituency), Muktar Zakari (Tarauni Federal Constituency), Yusuf Datti (Kura/Madobi/Garun Mallam Federal Constituency), and Abdulhakeem Ado (Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency)—defected from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a separate development, two lawmakers also moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). They are Chinedu Martins from Imo State and Kabiru Amadu Mai Palace from Zamfara State.
