The Federal Government has commenced the construction of 100 Renewed Hope Housing Units in each of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas as part of efforts to provide shelter for vulnerable citizens and address the nation’s housing deficit.

The initiative, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Housing Programme, is designed to support low-income earners, vulnerable groups, victims of insecurity and other disadvantaged Nigerians.

According to government officials, the project forms part of a broader social housing strategy aimed at expanding access to affordable housing while stimulating economic activities and creating jobs across the country.

The programme is expected to deliver a total of 77,400 housing units nationwide, with supporting infrastructure and amenities to ensure sustainable communities.

Officials said the housing scheme reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians through inclusive development and targeted social interventions.

The project is also expected to contribute to job creation, local economic growth and improved living conditions in communities across the country.
