Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has obtained the governorship nomination form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Malami, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 to 2023, is reportedly seeking to contest the Kebbi State governorship election on the ADC platform. He said his decision was informed by concerns over insecurity, poverty, and governance challenges in the state.

He pledged that, if elected, he would focus on strengthening security, improving education and healthcare, boosting agriculture, and expanding youth empowerment initiatives.

The development places him among prominent political figures already positioning for the 2027 elections as political activities gradually gather momentum across the country.
