The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, has announced the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu as the Senior Advisor on Women’s Health and Cancer Advocacy. Dr. Bagudu, a distinguished Consultant Paediatrician and cancer advocate with over 20 years of experience, has a notable record in health leadership.
Dr. Bagudu’s impressive background includes serving as the CEO of Medicaid Cancer Foundation and Chairperson of First Ladies Against Cancer. Her work has been pivotal in advancing cancer awareness and women’s health, driving impactful programs and fostering collaboration among health agencies.
In her new role, Dr. Bagudu will provide strategic guidance to enhance cancer prevention, early diagnosis, and women’s health promotion. Her responsibilities will also include collaborating with federal ministries, health agencies, and stakeholders to implement the National Strategic Cancer Control Plan and other key health initiatives. Her efforts will align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
