Ademola Lookman has earned a spot in the Serie A Team of the Year following a standout 2024 season.
The Team of the Year, compiled by whoscored.com, features Lookman as the only Atalanta player included. Other notable names in the lineup are Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco, Marcus Thuram, and Hakan Calhanoglu, along with former Chelsea star Christian Pulisic.
Lookman’s 2024 was a remarkable one, as he played a key role in helping Atalanta reach the finals of both the Coppa Italia and Europa League. After a narrow 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final, Lookman bounced back in style by scoring a hat-trick in Atalanta’s 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final.
He was also the only African player nominated in the 2024 Ballon d’Or awards, where he ranked 14th. To top off his incredible year, Lookman was named CAF Player of the Year, becoming the sixth Nigerian to win the prestigious award.
