President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his election victory.

Governor Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared winner of the September 2024 Edo State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). His victory was upheld today by the Supreme Court, bringing an end to the legal challenge against his mandate.

In a statement from the State House, President Tinubu urged Governor Okpebholo to be magnanimous in victory and unite all citizens of Edo State in pursuit of progress and development. He emphasized that this is a moment for governance, not division.

The President encouraged the governor to build on the work he has already started by accelerating the delivery of impactful projects, quality services, and inclusive governance for the people of Edo State.

President Tinubu also congratulated the leadership and members of the APC in Edo State for their steadfastness and commitment. He called for unity within the party and urged all stakeholders to focus on fulfilling the mandate entrusted to them by the electorate.
