Gov. Lawal Attends Maiden State House Press Corps Presidential Dinner

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal attended the inaugural State House Press Corps Presidential Dinner held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

During the event, Governor Lawal had the honour of decorating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Grand Patron of the State House Press Corps.

The dinner was organised to strengthen engagement between journalists and senior government officials, recognise excellence in presidential reporting, and provide a platform for interaction between the media and key government figures.

Addressing participants, President Tinubu urged media practitioners to uphold professionalism, accuracy, and responsibility in their reporting, describing the press as a vital partner in nation-building and democratic governance.

The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to press freedom and freedom of expression as guaranteed by the Constitution.

The State House Press Corps consists of journalists accredited to cover the President and activities within the Presidential Villa.

The event was attended by several top government officials, including First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, ministers, and other senior public office holders.
