Trust Burna Boy to turn a victory lap into a moment. Just when England’s women’s football team thought their Euros celebration had peaked, the Nigerian superstar made a surprise appearance outside Buckingham Palace, closing out the festivities in unforgettable style.

Fresh from their penalty shootout win over Spain in Basel, the Lionesses returned to London for two days of celebrations — from Downing Street to an open-top bus parade, and finally, a glowing finish at the Palace. Introduced by football pundit Alex Scott, Burna took the stage to loud cheers, gave a respectful nod to coach Sarina Wiegman (who once called him her favourite artist), and launched into a soulful rendition of “For My Hand”, his 2022 hit with Ed Sheeran.

The appearance capped a landmark moment for English football. This was the first time any England team — men or women — had lifted a major trophy outside home soil, making Burna’s set not just a performance, but a celebration of breaking boundaries on and off the pitch.
