The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), under the leadership of Mrs. Olubunmi, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, convened a meeting with key stakeholders of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) to discuss the forthcoming remodelling of Terminal 1 and the expansion of Terminal 2. The engagement is part of the administration’s efforts to modernise Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure in line with global standards.
This meeting marks the first in a series of planned consultations designed to foster transparency, collaboration, and shared ownership in the airport’s transformation process. Stakeholders were briefed on the scope of the projects and the long-term benefits they are expected to bring to the nation’s aviation sector.
FAAN management assured participants that the project would be executed with a focus on enhancing passenger experience, improving operational efficiency, and elevating the airport’s status as a major aviation hub in the region. The authority pledged to ensure minimal disruption to operations during the implementation phase.
The initiative reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s broader vision of upgrading critical national infrastructure to stimulate economic growth, attract investment, and strengthen Nigeria’s connectivity to the global economy. It also underscores the administration’s commitment to leveraging public-private collaboration in delivering world-class transport facilities.
