Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo has called on Ibom Air to withdraw its lawsuit against Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of unruly behavior on a flight. Keyamo also appealed to the Inspector General of Police to facilitate her release from Kirikiri prison.

The minister’s intervention follows public debate over the handling of the incident, with some arguing for a more conciliatory resolution. Keyamo emphasized the need to balance enforcement of aviation safety rules with compassion in addressing passenger-related disputes.

Emmanson’s case drew attention after reports emerged that she was remanded following a complaint by the airline. Ibom Air has not yet issued a formal response to the minister’s request.
