The Federal Government has appointed ace Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1, as an Aviation Security Ambassador. The move comes in the wake of an incident involving the artist and airport officials, which initially led to a flight ban and disciplinary action.
According to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the appointment is part of efforts to promote awareness and compliance with airport security protocols among travelers. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has also reduced KWAM 1’s flight ban to one month, with similar leniency granted to the ValueJet pilots involved in the matter.
Authorities say KWAM 1 will work with aviation stakeholders to champion security best practices, turning the incident into a platform for education and improved passenger conduct.
