DG WTO Visits President Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received the Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, held behind closed doors, focused on strengthening Nigeria’s role in global trade and exploring opportunities for deeper collaboration between the WTO and Nigeria’s economy. Discussions also touched on trade reforms, investment promotion, and strategies to enhance Nigeria’s export competitiveness.

Dr. Okonjo Iweala, a former Nigerian Minister of Finance, commended President Tinubu’s economic reforms and expressed the WTO’s readiness to support policies aimed at driving sustainable economic growth. The visit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to engaging with international trade institutions for national development.
