Barely a day after its release, Femi Otedola’s new book, Making It Big: Lessons from a Life in Business, has soared onto Amazon’s bestseller list. Launched on August 18, the memoir quickly climbed to No. 4 in the “Business Biographies and Memoirs” category, trailing only Gary Stevenson’s The Trading Game, Simon Squibb’s What’s Your Dream?, and Phil Knight’s classic Shoe Dog.
The billionaire businessman and chairman of Geregu Power chronicles his entrepreneurial journey, highlighting the risks, resilience, and defining choices that shaped his career. Otedola described the book as a deeply personal reflection on the “lessons, setbacks, and triumphs” that influenced his path in business.
The memoir has already earned high praise from global and African leaders including WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina, Dangote Group chairman Aliko Dangote, industrialist Samuel Adedoyin, and former World Bank executive Arunma Oteh. Copies are now available in major bookstores across Africa — including Abuja, Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, and Kampala — as well as in London.
