The Nigerian Air Force has thwarted a major cross-border terror plot near the Cameroon border, eliminating at least 35 terrorist fighters in precision air strikes.
According to military sources, the operation was conducted on Saturday after intelligence reports indicated an imminent attack on ground troops. Air strikes targeted four assembly points used by the terrorists, effectively neutralizing the threat and securing the area.
This latest action is part of a broader counterterrorism offensive in the northeast. The Defence Headquarters disclosed that nearly 600 armed militia members have been eliminated in the past eight months alone, a figure that already surpasses the total recorded in 2024.
The success of the operation highlights the military’s strengthened capacity and determination to defeat insurgency and restore peace across affected regions.
