The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Kayode Opeifa, says he has taken full responsibility for Tuesday’s derailment involving the Kaduna-bound train that departed Kubwa station in Abuja.

Opeifa, who confirmed the incident, assured that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause while pledging immediate measures to prevent a recurrence.

He further noted that passenger safety remains the Corporation’s top priority, adding that all affected commuters were safely evacuated without casualties.
