President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Terry Okorodudu, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart from Delta State, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 70.
In a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commiserated with the Government of Delta State, the APC family, and particularly with the widow, children, relatives, associates, and friends of the late AVM Okorodudu.
President Tinubu paid glowing tribute to the retired Air Force officer, recalling his meritorious service to Nigeria and his active role in party politics. He highlighted Okorodudu’s contributions to the APC at both state and national levels, including his service on the security committee of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in 2023.
The President also reflected on Okorodudu’s distinguished military career, which began with his commissioning as a pilot officer in 1976. He went on to serve as Nigeria’s Defence Attaché in Moscow, Russia, between 2006 and 2009, and later became the pioneer Managing Director of Aeronautical Engineering and Technical Services Limited, a subsidiary of the Nigerian Air Force. He also chaired the Board of Trustees of the Harry’s Friends Club, a governance-focused think-tank.
Describing him as both a political ally and a mentor to countless officers, President Tinubu praised Okorodudu’s dedication, diligence, and selfless service to the nation. He prayed for the repose of his soul and for God’s comfort upon his bereaved family.
