
Vice President Kashim Shettima has officially opened the 2nd International Railway Conference and Exhibition at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the Abuja Continental Hotel.
Organized by the Federal Ministry of Transportation in collaboration with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the conference is themed “Opportunities and Challenges in Railway Development in Africa: A Call for Investment.” It brings together government officials, industry leaders, and stakeholders from across the world to deliberate on the future of railway infrastructure as a catalyst for economic transformation in Nigeria and the continent.
Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Vice President Shettima delivered the keynote address, highlighting the administration’s commitment to modernizing Nigeria’s railway sector, attracting investment, and positioning railway development as a game changer for national and regional growth.
The event provides a platform for policymakers, experts, and investors to share insights, explore innovative solutions, and discuss strategies for advancing railway infrastructure to support economic growth, regional connectivity, and sustainable development across Africa.
