American rapper and singer Lil Nas X has pleaded not guilty to felony charges following his arrest in Los Angeles last month after being spotted nearly naked on the streets. According to Billboard, the 26-year-old artist, born Montero Hill, was not present in court on Monday, September 15, as his lawyers appeared on his behalf. Judge Shellie Samuels revealed that the rapper is currently undergoing treatment outside California, keeping details private while allowing him to remain out of state under revised bail conditions. His bail remains set at $75,000, with the next hearing scheduled for November 18.
Lil Nas X’s defense attorney, Drew Findling, declined to share specifics about the treatment but emphasized its importance for the star’s well-being. “We’re doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint, and a professional standpoint, but most importantly for his well-being. He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him. This is a bump that he’s gonna get over,” Findling said outside the courthouse.
The rapper was arrested on August 21 in Studio City after being recorded walking in his underwear and cowboy boots, with authorities alleging he resisted arrest and attacked officers. Four felony charges were later filed on August 25. The unusual circumstances of his arrest, coupled with his earlier revelation of recovering from partial facial paralysis, have drawn widespread public attention. As the November court date approaches, both his legal case and his recovery remain under close watch from fans and the wider music industry.
