Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has rewarded Nigeria’s U20 women’s national team, the Falconets, with $15,000 following their emphatic 4-0 win over Rwanda in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The match, played at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, saw the Falconets deliver a dominant performance that thrilled the home crowd.

Announcing the reward, Governor Makinde praised the team for their resilience, teamwork, and determination, which he said reflected the spirit of excellence Nigerians are proud of.

He assured that his administration will continue to support sporting activities and encourage young talents representing the country on the global stage.
