French survivor Gisèle Pelicot made a powerful appearance at the appeal trial of one of the men convicted in connection with her decade-long ordeal, during which 51 men were found guilty of raping her.

Pelicot’s husband had previously admitted to drugging her and inviting dozens of men to assault her over several years without her knowledge or consent. Despite overwhelming video evidence, one of the convicted men continues to deny any wrongdoing.

Facing him in court, Pelicot courageously declared, “I never gave consent,” directly calling out his continued denial and demanding accountability.

Her case remains one of France’s most disturbing examples of systemic sexual abuse and betrayal, reigniting national conversations about consent, justice, and survivor protection.
